Down for a While
01.31.04 (4:53 pm)   [edit]
Greeting Readers,

Well, tomorrow is the big move. My family and I move back to Canada tomorrow. It will take a week or so to get back blogging. I will still try to keep up on Korean news but I am always willing to rant in different directions.

On the political front, is seems that decorated War Hero John Kerry has a good chance of beating Chickenhawk Deserter Bush. I hope like hell that Kerry succeeds in pulling America out of it's status of being the International Laughing Stock.

See Ya all Soon!

Air Pollutuion in Seoul
01.28.04 (7:06 am)   [edit]
The Korea Lies ran this article on air pollution in Seoul today:

http://times.hankooki.com/lpage/opinion/200401/ kt2004012816111611300.htm" title="http://times.hankooki.com/lpage/opinion/200401/ kt2004012816111611300.htm" target="_blank"http://times.hankooki.com/lpa...

Seoul now ranks as one of the worst cities for pollution in the world and you know what? S-F-A has been done about it. The first time I flew in Korea was 1993 and I could not believe how bad it was. Well, guess what? I was up there last week and it is even worse! It is worse that any other place I have ever been with the possible exception of Bangkok.

The solution to the problem is equally obvious: tougher emissions regulations on the millions of automobiles that traverse our streets every day. Government authorities need to develop a variety of measures to reduce the pollutants.

Yet another brilliant prognostication from the Korea Lies. You know what? EVERY KOREAN CAR that goes to Canada or the USA meets OBD III regulations which are so strict, they would actually clean the air in Seoul. The Europeans have slightly different, but equally severe, standards. Starting next year, North America gets even more strict, with all cars having to meed Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV) technology. So the means to do this is readily available. Why, you say, does Korea not enacted OBD III or ULEV?

Take a guess? Money. The kleptocrats that run Korea do not want Mr Kim's car costing $1000 more than it does now. Mr Kim couldn't afford that and profits would be less, hence the benching exhausts. That and the technology, as well as the materials for the catylists, are imported, a no-no in LALALAND, gasp, wheeze.

The government should also reconsider its plan to allow the sale of diesel sedans, which has been lobbied for by manufacturers seeking to increase production numbers for exports in Europe.

The Phase IV regs for diesel cars in Europe are about a billion times more strict than the gasoline regs in Korea. While diesels produce more particulate than gas cars, the produce less CO and HC and WAAAYYY less CO2. Further, also in 2005, Phase V kicks in and the soot standard is ZERO. The reason the government is discouraging diesel cars is that they do not want to lose the tax revenues it gouges from gas sales. The refiners also do not want to cut profits to make the 0.01% sulfer diesel fuel that is mandated in Europe.

Above all, citizens have to work together. Cooperation is essential if we are going to clean our air. This means using public transit and leaving personal cars at home. Car-pooling and other proactive measures should also be promoted.

Civic lip-service. Around 1995 Seoul had a system where one day in ten you could not drive. The result? People who could afford it bought another car! The only way to seriously deal with air pollution is by regulation and enforcement. In my hometown of Vancouver, air quality has improved 38% since emission testing became law.

516 Faces to go with 516 Numbers
01.28.04 (5:28 am)   [edit]
To any reader supporting Bush's useless and poorly thought out Oil war in Iraq, here are the faces to go with numbers:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/world/iraq/cas ualties/facesofthefallen.htm" title="http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/world/iraq/cas ualties/facesofthefallen.htm" target="_blank"http://www.washingtonpost.com...

The unnessary dead fathers, brothers, sons. Future sons lost in a war that can never be "won."

I challenge any Bush lover out there to go enlist. Vote Bush and you will be sure to have the draft again. Enlist now and you can get into a safe place like the navy. Why a draft? Because recruitment is now at record lows. Why? Because the kids that will actually do the dying realise that it is for a lost cause. Re-enlistments are dropping like a rock. Why? Because the US Army is trained as an offensive force and not an occupier. The draft will ruin the quality of the army. Why? Because draftees are interested in surving to go home that fighting wars that cannot be won.

See above.

Chickenhawks to the Recruiter's office!

Korea Lies, Jan 28
01.28.04 (2:01 am)   [edit]
The Dear Leader's mouthpiece in English, the Korea Lies, has yet again stated its undying support to him. Today's lead story features an interview with former unification minister Lim Dong-won, architect of the (illegal) cash for summit deal in 2000.

Now there are very few things on which I agree with the Bush administration but North Korea policy is one. The differences between Korean and western culture; in western culture, standing on a belief and sticking to it is considered paramount. In Korean culture, making polite gestures and avoiding problems, even if you have to pay protection money, is paramount to maintaining kibun.

I will fisk just a bit of the article. I have had the flu and do not want to vomit any more than I have to.

``The U.S. holds the key to resolution,’’ he said. ``As the world’s only superpower, the U.S. must create a condition and environment in which North Korea no longer feels the need to develop nuclear weapons,’’ he also said.

Hmmm, well, seems "Independent Diplomacy" only goes into action when it suits Comrade Roh and the boys. Why doesn't South Korea prove how "Independent Diplomacy" works and pay off the Norks? Oh, I see, "Independence" only plays when America pays.

North Korea must also change its thinking, he added.

``It must first announce that it will scrap its nukes and agree on a multinational security framework,’’ Lim said.

Doesn't Lim remember 1994? The Dear Leader swindled billions in aid and oil and the smugly admitted that he never for one second intended on honouring the deal. He attempted to create another "crisis" to extort even more money from America and their delusional Southern brothers, who are so fucking dumb they do not realise the Norks hate them more than the Yankees.

He went on to say that subjugating inter-Korean relations, including economic and other cooperation projects, under the nuclear crisis would be a mistake

The whole object of this exercise is to separate the South from its America ally. The Norks are expert politicos and the dorks in the South are so busy being starry eyed and lovie dovie that they fail to realise that Article One of the North Korean constitution calls for unification by military force. For people who think they are so smart it is amazing that they have never read any Marxist-Leninism. There is absolutely NO WAY the two economic systems in the North and South can EVER coexist.

The Americans will not play ball and the Norks know that by now. The exercise now is to try to survive long enough for public opinion finally forces a USFK departure. This will allow the fifth column in the south to rise up and reunify the country with one Leader:

The Dear Leader

New Math, Korea Lies Style
01.27.04 (12:52 am)   [edit]
In the latest incarnation of the Korea Lies, one cannot help but see the blatant boosterism for the Dear Leader (Uri) Party. Get a load of this scientific polling and intrepretation of the figures:

In an opinion survey conducted by Media Research Inc., along with The Korea Times and its sister paper the Hankook Ilbo, 24.1 percent of the voters said they backed the Uri Party, while about 19.6 percent favored the GNP, currently dominating the unicameral National Assembly. The MDP, which holds the second largest number of seats, was only supported by 8.7 percent of respondents.

Hmmm, let's do some math here; 24.1+19.6+8.7=52.4%

This is hardly what I would call a ringing endorsement of the Dear Leader Party.

About 28.0 percent said they had no favorite party, while 15.6 percent gave no answer.

More math: 28.0+15.6=43.6. Thus, in other words, almost twice as many people either told the pollsters to take a hike or had no opinon as like the Dear Leader Party. Added to this, any poll with more than a 10% refusal rate is worthless.

This is in my opinion hardly a ringing endorsement for the Dear Leader Party and Korea's political system in general.

A majority of 51 percent predicted the GNP would keep its status as the largest Assembly force, while 21.3 percent said they believed the Uri Party could garner more seats than any other parties.

I wonder how the Korea Lies could print something like this and try to maintain one shard of journalistic enthics; suffice to say almost 30% did not even answer the question because they do not care. They know the system is rotten to the core.

Six out of 10 South Koreans evaluated President Roh Moo-hyun’s job performance as ``poor’’ or ``very poor,’’ while only three said the president, sworn in just a year ago, was doing ``well’’ or ``very well.’’ Those surveyed were evenly split over the question of whether or not Roh’s entrance into the Uri Party before elections would be helpful for the party’s campaigning.

Wow, there is a ringing vote of confidence. Sixty percent of the polled think Comrade Noh is a goof while 30% like him, which is, interestingly, almost the same number of people who like Minju-dang an The Dear Leader Party and funnily enough, that is the percentage of the South Korean population from Jeolla-do. Reginalism is alive and well. I know Comrade Noh said he was against that but when it is in your favour, why not go with the flow?

What can really be intrepreted from this kind of journalistic trash is that the Korea public is sick to death of polticians postering and trying to get their piece of the action while standards of living fall. I also sincerely hope the Korean voters see what the Uri Party is:

First, it is nothing but a front for Nosamo and the Dear Leader. "Reform" means replacing the old crooks with Nosamo crooks who worship the Dear Leader and naively believe that they can deal with him.

Second, that more voters are not interested in the election than are because they are jaded with politics.

UPDATE;

I wonder if I had anything to do with the changing to the headline to: Elections Becoming 2-Way Race

Apathy and disgust is still the leader.

Let me Respond
01.24.04 (9:18 pm)   [edit]
in vietnam, democratic politicos like butcher mcnamara hog-tied the military and kept us from any chance of victory...

See my Primer for Imperialism. Pretending that you are engaging in military operations in other countries not in your interest is just silly.

Well, that pesky Consitution thing that lets the politcians get in the way of the military. The lack of declaration of war was not much help, either.

these days, we're so bloody pc that traitors and foreign agents at cnn are still called journalists--and the terrorists get the information without paying for it...

I see, so anyone who disagrees with your ideas is a traitor? So is that what democracy is about? If America could follow the Imperialism for Dummies Guide, CNN would not be in Iraq.

Americans think other people deserve a chance for what we consider to be a normal life... and we're generally willing to sacrifice for it...

Hmm, have you ever lived in another country? What you consider "normal" is not always what another person thinks.

One would think that after our recent dealings with the surrender monkeys of paris, the neo-nazis of berlin, and the stinking offspring of pig-droppings ruled by yassir arafat that our altruism might be blunted...

I have a hard time making sense of this. Nazism was based on the need for a permanent state of war so I
cannot really see how the SPD government can be considered Nazi. In fact, German and French hesitations to proceed with UN sanctioned action against Iraq were predicated by actually finding some WMD evidence first. There is none. They were right.

Altrusim? Come on, get real. There are dozens of third world shitholes that would jump to the moon to have America there to provide security and set an example. Congo and Liberia come immediately to mind, two of the worst places on earth. America is in Iraq for America's interest, not the Iraqi people's. Just stop pretending. Iraq has a decent infrastructure and was thought easy to exploit. Their oil could pay for America companies to rebuild the stuff destroyed by American military action. Problem is America is not following the Imperialism for Dummies guide and can't establish sufficient security to rebuild the place, which is in everybody's best interest now.

but gwb will continue as long as they let him... too bad he's more of a lib than the democrats of the '60s...

Perhaps the US military should stage a coup and declare Bush President for life. All dissenters can be excecuted and all countries in opposition can be invaded. Then America will rule the world with peace, prosperity and benovolence.

And Bechtel and Haliburton.

Imperialism for Dummies
01.24.04 (5:45 pm)   [edit]
Since we are leaving Korea soon, it is time to open up the rant to more topics; this time Iraq.

It is amazing how history repeats itself. In the case of Iraq, America has, practically alone, gotten into a war of attrition with a highly disiplined and motivated enemy. America's attempt to enforce America values on a society that has been ruled by thugs for centuries is a total failure and the rather obvious attempt at imperialism a sick joke. The funniest thing I have ever heard was Wolfie saying "Each Iraqi family has the right to have one AK-47." Brilliant, they can use it to shoot at you.

Nor has the capture of Saadam done anything to stop attacks of American troops who are doing duties they were never trained for in the first place. What is this going to do to morale? You guess, especially when the regulars go home and the reserves, 35 year old office clerks, take over. I doubt that a 35 year old with a wife and a couple of kids wants to get shot at that much.

Thus, I will give America a little primer, taken from the British Way of Taking Control of a Country.

1. Drop any pretention of "saving" the place. If that country has nothing you want, you would not be there in the first place.

2. Go to town "A." Issue a proclaimation that all weapons will be surrendered in 24 hours. After waiting period, search EVERY house. When a weapon is found, erect gallows and hang every male in the house over age of 18 and do it publicly. Watch weapons STREAM in.

3. In town A, find some minority and take him to town "B." Make him mayor. Repeat processes 1 and 2 until you control every town in the country.

4. Keep all police and intelligence personnel. Double their salaries but make it C-L-E-A-R who they work for and if they fuck up, they'll be on the gallows just as fast as in step 2.

5. Establish a fair court system. Try everybody before you hang them. Start with your people as the judges. After 100 years or so, locals can run traffic courts.

6. Pay for information. It seems Bremmer knows nothing about third world countries. Want info? A beggar would sell out his mother for $2.00.

7. Educate and train people. They will put up with a lot if they see their lives improving.

8. Realise that some day, you will have to leave the place. Once you educate the people, they will want control over their destiny. You can continue to reap profits through trade.

9. Remove trade barriers. Third world nations never seem to realise that this impedes them more then anything.

10. The most important: Do not rule directly. The whole idea is to get as much out of your empire as you can. This is largely done with trade, not plunder. The British ruled their huge empire with only 50,000 people, soldiers included.

So there is my Primer, Imperialism for dummies. This one comes from former Defence Secretary Robert MacNamara:

McNamara's 11 lessons, Retrospect, 1995.

We misjudged then -- and we have since -- the geopolitical intentions of our adversaries . . . and we exaggerated the dangers to the United States of their actions.

We viewed the people and leaders of South Vietnam in terms of our own experience. . . . We totally misjudged the political forces within the country.

We underestimated the power of nationalism to motivate a people to fight and die for their beliefs and values.

Our judgments of friend and foe alike reflected our profound ignorance of the history, culture, and politics of the people in the area, and the personalities and habits of their leaders.

We failed then -- and have since -- to recognize the limitations of modern, high-technology military equipment, forces and doctrine. . . . We failed as well to adapt our military tactics to the task of winning the hearts and minds of people from a totally different culture.

We failed to draw Congress and the American people into a full and frank discussion and debate of the pros and cons of a large-scale military involvement . . . before we initiated the action.

After the action got under way and unanticipated events forced us off our planned course . . . we did not fully explain what was happening and why we were doing what we did.

We did not recognize that neither our people nor our leaders are omniscient. Our judgment of what is in another people's or country's best interest should be put to the test of open discussion in international forums. We do not have the God-given right to shape every nation in our image or as we choose.

We did not hold to the principle that U.S. military action . . . should be carried out only in conjunction with multinational forces supported fully (and not merely cosmetically) by the international community.

We failed to recognize that in international affairs, as in other aspects of life, there may be problems for which there are no immediate solutions. . . . At times, we may have to live with an imperfect, untidy world.

Underlying many of these errors lay our failure to organize the top echelons of the executive branch to deal effectively with the extraordinarily complex range of political and military issues.

On Getting Busted.
01.23.04 (6:44 am)   [edit]
Tonight's topic on Blogland seems to be that cute, blonde, white chick who got busted after confessing TWICE to killing her friend.

I am not the most politically correct person in the world and yes, I am not perfect. I have been busted. Amazing isn't it? Busted, yes. Convicted no. Cop a plea? FUCK OFF!

When you have a toothache, see a dentist. When your car breaks, see a mechanic. When you get busted, talk to a laywer. Listen to your local media and pick the lawyer who has his/her name in the paper as much as possible but to quote Archie Bunker, "Get youself a Jew."

I got busted on some totally trumped up shit in 1990. Let me tell you what I said to the cops" S-F-A." Sweet Fuck All. After seven months, I went to trial. Guess what? Because I did not make as statement, there was no corrobrating evidence against me. I walked out the door without spending a cent because legal aid footed the bill. Why you may ask? Because I am educated and do not own anything.

Kezzi is a loser fuck up. She deserves to go to pussy licking U for being so fucking dumb. What a retard! Cops try to pin the crime on the first nigger they see on the scene and in this case it was Kezzi (an what kind of retard name is that?). She was so fucking dumb to talk to the cops without a lawyer. Cops dread suspects who have brains because cops tend to not be that smart (exception: Mounties. They do not even interview you before they have 100% goods on you).

Take this advice, fellow readers: NEVER TALK TO A COP. They are afraid of lawyers and malicious prosecution suits. That and they do not have the time to pursue 99% of the cases they are presented with.

Use some brains in life; the government uses possesion as a way to control you. In Canada, you can go bankrupt with $5000 in funriture, all you clothes and hosehold good and a $5000 car. They can't touch ANY of it. Now, my shit is worth less than $5000 but I have every toy you can think of. When I get to Canada next week, the first thing I am going to do is buy a 1993 Buick for $3000 or so. Great car and it will take me to the Piggly Wiggly as good as a $30,000 Acura.

But being a slave to matierialism is what being a Republican is all about, I suppose.

Top 10....
01.23.04 (5:55 am)   [edit]
Greetings Loyal Readers,

Not a lot of bloggable material over the big weekend but I did get this Top Ten list off a friend of mine who is, amazingly, even politically less correct than I am. Enjoy!

Top 10 Reasons Why the Editorial Staff of the Korean Lies
Want the US Army to Stay in Seoul: by DungDegi

10-So that their friends won’t have to stop work on Beer Tunnel #2. Beer Tunnel #1 to the Youngsan PX having been discovered recently which has led to an extreme shortage of black-market Bud and especially Guinness.

9-So that their family members can continue to escape Military Service by playing with Katusha Rockets (and helping with Beer Tunnel #2) while improving their Konglish working at the Youngsan Garrison Supermarket.

8-Because they are told what to say by the Elite Families that own the Yellow Rag they write for (and the rest of this country).

7-Because if the Base goes Bust then the arrogant brats of those Elite Families would loose their American English Teachers in the form of US Officer’s wives.

6-And those same Elite Families wouldn’t have a Convenient Scapegoat in the form of the American Army presence in a highly visible location.

5-And they could no longer whip up mass hysteria in the conformist Korean public every election so that the same gang of Cheobol Boot Lickers remain in political power, at the trough, and On The Make.

4-And then it would be almost impossible to continue to successfully distract the wage slaves of Korea from the utter debauchery, corruption, and Puerile Selfishness of the Elite.

3-Which might lead to a Social Revolution and general Enlightenment that stamps out Xenophobic Racism and results in democracy, freedom and human rights.

2-Which could change Korea into a decent country like that of their 3rd cousins twice improved the Japanese (first by the Mejia Emperor’s embrace of western technology in the 1870’s and secondly by Macarthur’s edict that the Emperor is not a God and to worship America instead in 1945). But I digress.

The #1 Reason Why the Editorial Staff of the Korea Lies want the US Army to Stay in Seoul is……..

1-So that their women folk can continue their gainful employment banging GI’s for a can of coffee and a pack of hotdogs each for a “Short Time”.

Lux-loser
01.20.04 (5:38 pm)   [edit]
Hi readers,

Well, I tried to use the comments again but Lux-loser, the one with no life, keeps spamming me,the fucking idiot he is. Lux, you seem so obsessed with your country's image yet it is idiots like you that make Korea look like a nation of snivelling cry-babies.

So that is the end of the comments. Of course comments are always welcome at:

japanguy74@yahoo.com

Luxie-poo, send me another virus. It will never make it into my system and I want your IP again.

And Lux: FUCK OFF! You are a shame to your country.

Seo Tai-ji is back to Milk the Motherland yet Again!
01.20.04 (5:13 am)   [edit]
I see Seo Tai-ji is back yet again. In case you are familar with Seo, he is a kyopo from LA who made a real sensation in Korea in the early 1990's by introducing rap to Korea. It also seems that the person who wrote the article knows nothing about him.

Seo was raised in LA but never took American citizenship. He regularly shuttled back and forth between the pot of gold (Korea) and the comforts of home (America). One pesky problem: military service. He was given exemptions until 1998 when the issue really took off in Korea.

Yang Hyun-suk and Lee Ju-no, announced their retirement. The reason for their retirement? ``To escape the troubles and pains of creation,’’ Seo said at the press conference on Jan. 31, 1996.

Utter horse hockey. Seo was ripping songs off of American groups left, right and centre and got caught doing it. He also did not want to do his military service and skipped back the his hated, adopted, homeland, America. Unfortunately, there is not much of a market for ripped off rap sung in Korean in America. Seo started running out of money and popped back to Korea to cash in on kyopo envy.

Enter military service. Seo kind of got the word that he was gonna go whether he liked it or not and that to keep the cash flow coming, he had to do his time. At least he took it like a man (pun intended) and did it.

Seo likes to champion all the Korrect Korean Kauses like hating America but he does not actullly live in Korea. He fills up on cash here a couple of times a year and returns to his comfortable life in America.

Another Great Patriot like Lux Bearer!

Racist Shitbag Kyopo Bennie Oh speaks!
01.20.04 (4:51 am)   [edit]
The Korea Lies gives me a plethora of material for fisking. I pity the poor native speakers who have to edit this racist, whining, self-serving bilge but I love it because I can futher expose just how yellow the Korean media is, especially Banana Kyopo Bennie Oh. I am not going to discuss the whole rambling monologue just parts of it. So let'start!

Although there is no official definition, the independent diplomacy is viewed as an effort by Roh to break down Seoul’s U.S.-oriented policies and bring equality to their relationship.

Wow, now that is really smart. America takes in a million cars a year from Korea and is, depending on whose figures you use, Korea's number one or two market. Pissing off Washington with no plan other than to piss it off to appease the Dear Leader's agents in South Korea, who will never be appeased until the Dear Leader sits in Roh's chair, is really smart. It shows really calculated and clever policy.

Roh is putting all his political assets on the line to grab a big portion of the National Assembly seats for his Uri Party in the April 15 general elections. The Uri Party has about 50 seats out of a total of 273 so anything less than a resounding victory will certainly make Roh’s presidency even lamer.

Classic frog in the well thinking. Comrade Roh is risking alienation from the one country no country should alienate in order curry favour from The Dear Leader, oops, Uri Party, which he isn't even a member of yet.

For the country’s army of public servants, one of the parties that have been piqued under Roh’s administration, the message is that they better behave or face the same fate as Yoon.

Another really smart move that shows Comrade Roh knows nothing about governing a nation. The real administration, ie sending out the cheques and issuing the building permits, is done by civil servants. Firing them en mass tends to have some serious negative affects on your economy, especially when they are replaced by a bunch of political hacks whose only skill is loyalty the the Dear Leader and Comrade Roh. This is classic Korean Flunkyism where ass-kissing is far more improtant than ability. Anyone who has ever worked in a Korean orgainisation knows exactly what I am saying.

Perhaps more importantly, however, Roh’s action seems intended to help bring back into the fold the young, progressive voters who supported his campaign pledge to bring more equality to ROK-U.S. relations and turned out in force to elect Roh in December 2002.

Romancing the Mob, Part 2. I wonder if the mob is so stupid that it does not realise that Comrade Roh used it when it was convenient and then told them to pack up. Even more importantly, does Comrade Roh actually think that America will tolerate being used as a patsy again? The fact is the Frog in the Well does not care for the consequences of his actions even if it means further suffering for the people he claims to champion.

This can be read in a recent development involving the two countries’ negotiations over the relocation of U.S. bases from Seoul. In the negotiations held in Hawaii over the weekend, Seoul suddenly changed its stance and decided to accommodate U.S. plan to move the headquarters for the ROK-U.S. Combined Forces Command and the United Nations Command out of Seoul.

This is where "New Diplomacy" shows what an absolute failure and danger it is. Comrade Roh and the Keystone Commies have lost all the leverage that previous Korean diplomats have built up. Seoul had to cave in because the message from Washington was clear; "Don't like it? We'll leave Korea altogether." Notice the timing, right after Yoon got the boot. Also note how America has learned to deal with Korea. Instead of playing the game like it did all through 2002, it dictated from a place of strength, "We are leaving, you are paying, don't like that, see how fast we leave!" The response from Comrade Roh and the Keystone Commies? Not a peep and this is MUCH bigger stuff than the 2002 tank accident.

The chances are that this strategy will cause Roh to take more actions to upset Washington, as the elections approach, relegating Ban’s role to a mediator who is responsible for minimizing damage to ROK-U.S. relations.

Good predictions but rather odd coming from Racist Piece of Shit Kyopo Bennie Oh who should relish Comrade Roh and the Keystone Commies antagonising America just for the fun of it. This is because Bennie the Shitbag can skip back to America while the people here in Korea sell hotuk on the street to try to keep the loan sharks at bay or pay school fees.

Making Ban’s work even more difficult is that Roh and his top advisors are used to taking stop-gap measures, a habit they have acquired in domestic politics, and tend to believe that any damage to international relations can also be undone. Roh may think that he can restore the two countries’ relations, once he assures the Uri Party of an election victory.

This only further illustrates how Comrade Roh and the Keystone Commies are totally incompetent to run the country. The one thing you do not do is use foreign policy for domestic gain especially when dealing with the super-power upon you rely for a huge chunk of trade and all your security. Nations that get into this kind of shit usually end up covered in it. Extreme examples would be Yugoslavia and Comrade Roh's mecca, North Korea. International relations are something that have to be nurtured over decades and cannot be repaired with an "I'm sorry," or "It was all a misunderstanding."

This tendency was evident, last year when Roh praised anything American during his maiden trip to U.S., only to go back on it when he returned home.

Don't think this wasn't noticed in Washington. It was.

Ban may find himself on his own, navigating the two countries’ relations away from another reef, the next time Washington turns up the pressure on the North over its nuclear weapons.

Shitbag Bennie, Comrade Roh and the Keystone Commies' "New Diplomacy" may pay well with the Dear Leader but America is now past giving a flying fuck what any Korean thinks about them. That good will has now been disposed of. America will deal with issues that affect it's security to protect America's security. Sending more money to the Dear Leader so he can further threaten America and the South is not exactly a great idea in America's eyes. Japan just announced that it will cut all remittances to the Dear Leader.

And Bennie Oh; fuck you, you racist piece of shit. I have not forgotten your inciting of the mob in 2002, you hypcritical sack of manure.

Got this from a reader:

1. Koreans are easily swayed by people they respect.
2. The DPRK spent a lot of capitol and patience infiltrating their
colleges.
3. The young to middle-aged folks in Korea don't know any better.

I believe that; but I also believe that they don't have any excuse.
They are willfully blind. They are ignoring the history of General
Shin--yes the turtleboat guy...

He started with nothing, became famous, got sent to prison by jealous
types, got famous again, jailed again, got famous and died penniless...
or a close approximation.

Their culture is self-destructive. They don't teach sportsmanship;
hence when they encounter it, they assume it to be a weakness... silly
children that they are...

I hope they'll wake up. I'm not counting on it... And I'm just sad
that Macarthur wasn't willing to spend 10% as much effort on them as he
did the Phillipines and Japan... they _might_ have made it
(philisophically) out of the 13th Century into at least the beginning
of the Age of Reason before they were given 20th Century technology...

I agreee with a lot of that you said. Koreans tend to unconditionally believe what any senior has told them. You are 100% correct about the infiltration at the colleges. I work at one and it saying anything anti-Dear Leader will end your job pretty fast.

Same goes for the concepts of "fair play." Kids are taught from a young age that winning is everything and that cheating to do so is justified. Finally, jealousy is also a big part of the culture; Lee Sun-shin was a great tactician and sailor. However, he was not Yangban and was too intelligent . In a Korean social meliu, kissing the correct ass correctly is far more important that what you achieve.

Anyway, thanks for the comments. Keep 'em comin'!

Oh, Luxie-poo!
01.19.04 (8:02 am)   [edit]
Luxie-poo, instead of attacking Kevin's site, why not try to hack mine? You claim you are a big computer genius but all you can do is post spam on the comments. Shit, you are a homo loser! That and I can see you have hit my site 20 times in the last hour. I get your IP everytime, you moron.

Now Luxie-poo, instead of spamming Kevin, why not try to hack my site? Since you are so clever, it should be no problem for you. I will even give you hints.

The log-in name is kimchipig

The password has ten characters. Four are letters, six numbers.

Now, Luxie-poo, I am off to bed. I have a wife to sleep with and she is a woman. Even had a girlfriend? I don't think so and it is your task to hack my site.

Luxie-poo: FUCK OFF! YOU ARE AN INBRED LOSER!

Were your parents cousins? And you know you can always send me e-mail to japanguy74@yahoo.com

Happy Lunar New Year!
01.19.04 (4:57 am)   [edit]
Again, I would like to sincerely thank those visiting my site. It has turned out to be a lot fun and I am surprised at the response I am getting. Thanks, once more.

Lunar New Year is coming soon and of course, Comrade Roh has used the occasion to pardon a bunch of fellons. But in Korea, if you stick up a street vendor for a piece of fish on a stick while hammered, you get five years and serve every second. However, if you steal billions, or completely subvert the National Security Law, you do a little time and get out to enjoy the fruits of your crime. But then again, Iran Contra was a lot worse and they all walked, too, so it is not just Korea.

I doubt there will be much bloggable for the next few days but I really hope LuxILoveKorea keeps it up because baiting him is so fun.

Mrs Kimchipig and I have put in plenty good drink and eats. The piglets continue to grow and prosper and we wish all a good rest.

Thanks to Kevin for posting the IP of our favourite pet idiot, Lux Bearer. He has been around for quite a while on various boards, most notably the Old Chousn Ilbo, where he posted as "I love Korea." Seems that his English has improved a bit of late but he is still mentally challenged.

Now Lux, I know are seething reading my blog and just waiting for me to turn the comments on. NO WAY! Lux, you can e-mail me at japanguy74@yahoo.com if you want to flame me.

Lux, why in the hell are you in Australia? You claim to be a Korean patriot but you continue to live in Melbourne? What gives? You hate white people but live in what is a predomantly a white country. Lux, of I Love Korea, if you loved Korea so much you would be here in Korea working to rid the Minjok of the horrible Big Noses!

Lux, catch the next flight! Work for your dream!

Oh, and Lux, you are still a fucking idiot.

More Material, Courtesy of the Korea Lies
01.18.04 (5:16 am)   [edit]
The latest editorial from the Korea lies is such a racist, loaded, amnesic piece of shit, I cannot but COMPLETELY fisk it. I thank racist sack of shit Editor Moon for giving me such great material for my blog. Without further adieu, let the fisking begin!

The Republic of Korea and the United States have finally agreed to pull out all American military forces from Seoul and relocate them south of the capital, away from the border with North Korea.
If the plan materializes as agreed in 2007, the disgraceful history of having foreign troops stationed in Seoul for 122 years will end. The Yongsan site, located in the heart of the city, will be devoid of foreign military forces for the first time since 1882.

Hey, I thought it was only dirty Yankees who have occupied your land. Oh, I forgot. Korea has surrendered so many times that various powers have been in Yongsan. Hell, it is the best repository of Meji buildings in Korea!

To date, the issue of relocating the Eighth U.S. Army out of Yongsan was first raised by then-presidential candidate Roh Tae-woo in 1987 as one of his election pledges.

Well, it was but as we will see later, Korea did not want to pay for it nor really wanted it to happen. It was just an expedient election pledge.

Since then, it has been a hot potato tossed about by politicians amid a situation of growing anti-American sentiment, particularly among the younger generations who have no direct experience with the tragedy of the 1950-1953 Korean War.

Anti-Americanism well stroked by the Korean media, such as the Hankook Ilbo and it's sister, the Korea Lies.

Except under very extraordinary circumstances, no country welcomes the presence of a foreign military force presence in its territory.

Who does the research at the Korea Lies? Poland, for example, is falling all over itself to have US forces in it's country. Why, you may ask? Because that guarantees peace, security and trade. Sure, there are few trade offs, but the benefits more than outweigh those especially when you have an agressive and hostile neighbour(s).

But our nation's case is obviously quite different. The U.S. fought the North Korean communists, who were backed by the Soviet Union, to defend the freedom of a democratic South Korea. The cost for the U.S. was tens of thousands of American lives.

Something usually forgotten but left wing media such as the Korea Lies and not even known by the young people, who have been indoctrinated that the loss of 40,000 American lives was only in America's interest because the Great Leader wanted to unify Korea again.

The military threat of the North has persisted stubbornly since the end of the war and our two countries are still technically in a state of war.

Hey, isn't the Korea Lies a strong advocate of the "Moonshine Policy" and revision of SOFA? I thought the Dear Leader was your friend and America your enemy.

In addition, the North continues to threaten the peace on the peninsula with its unswerving ambition to develop nuclear weapons. At the same time, an uncompromising anti-American sentiment has rapidly spread among our youth.

That is because media, epitomised by publications such as the Korea Lies, has played up every single incident involving the US military while at the same time playing down the same kind of crimes in the Korean population, which, statistically, happen far more often. Further, the Korea Lies has played down or not even mentioned the atrocious human rights conditions in North Korea.

In the new administration of President Roh Moo-hyun, relatively young presidential aides and National Security Council officials in charge of national security and diplomatic policies have been gaining an edge over pro-U.S. officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, as was seen last week in the dismissal of the supposedly too pro-American Foreign Minister, Yoon Young-kwan.

This is the first generation to have not been raised in total privation and is now willing to risk Korea's future to puff out their scrawny chests. In fact, "Independent Diplomacy" is further isolating South Korea in the international diplomatic set because real diplomats do not want to associate with a bunch of commie debutants. This is also why the USA is dictating policy regarding USFK.

Moving the Korea-U.S. Combined Forces Command and the United Nations Command to Pyongtaek, some 60 Kilometers (36 miles) south of Seoul, will have a grave psychological effect on the security of our people.

Short memories at the Korea Lies, only a year ago it was calling for "an equal alliance." Seems that South Korea taking responsible for it's own security on the front line is pretty equal. If the Dear Leader attacks, the first killed will be fellow Koreans, not Americans. I also remember large mobs screaming "Yankee Go Home!" for the best part of a year. Now they are going home!

In fact, many people believe the removal of the CFC and UNC, both headed by U.S. Army Gen. Leon LaPorte, will threaten security on the divided peninsula.

Perhaps the Korea Lies should have considered these things when it encouraged mob racism in 2002-2003.

The pullout is feared to weaken the ``trip wire'' scenario, referring to the fact that the U.S. is supposed to automatically intervene in case of aggression from the North.

The events of 2002 ended the "Tripwire," or holding Americans hostage to Korean politcal intreague. From now on, Korean politicans had better think twice before using America as a patsy and a scapegoat.

If the U.S. units are located within the range of North Korean guns deployed along the armistice line, it guarantees a deterrent. If not, it may cause the North to miscalculate. This may very well frustrate efforts to entice more foreign investment in South Korea.

The Korea Lies and other Korean media encouraged the xenophobic frenzy in 2002-2003. The love-in with the Dear Leader led him to become more bold. This time America is not going to play ball. I suggest the Korea Lies take up a collection and pay off the Dear Leader themeselves. I also see that the people that broke South Korea law to give the Dear Leader $500,000,000 of illegal money are about to be let out of jail. Is there any wonder that foreign investment is drying up?

Despite these uncertainties, the two allies of 50 years have agreed to move the American troops from Seoul, with the South Korea accepting the U.S. request allegedly based on a larger global force-realignment plan currently.

Korea Lies, you had better be careful. The USA is tired of this bullshit. What you hint at is true; any more bullshit using USFK as a whipping-boy and you will see their tails faster than you can print more racist lies.

Everyone will agree with the eventuality of an American withdrawal, first from Seoul and then from the entire country. But the timing of the move is important.

Korea Lies, it is up to you, the media, to determine the speed of the US departure, which is going to happen sooner or later. It is in Korea's best interest to build up it's military before that happens but do not blame Uncle Sam for pissing off after the way you have treated him.

Following the agreement, there are serious questions that must be asked about our national security, particularly when the North has not yet given up its scheme to communize the South by force and with heavily-armed forces of the two sides still confronting each other across the demilitarized zone just north of Seoul.

Well, gee, I thought the Dear Leader was your Fraternal Brother. Few in South Korea know the above said plan but it is article one in the DPRK Consititution. Giving him money in so called "economic projects" only allows him to realise his dream. But first he must separate South Korea from it's American ally, something the Korea Lies is succeeding in doing admirably.

Since the Roh administration was inaugurated a year ago, many people have begun to worry seriously about Seoul-Washington relations. One public poll even came to the astonishing conclusion that young Koreans regard the U.S. as a more serious threat to peace than North Korea and view Kim Jong-il as only slightly more menacing to peace than George W. Bush.

With media such as the Korea Lies playing up every single incident involving a USFK member, is this of any surprise? When was the last time you saw a story about the community service USFK does in Korea?

Under those circumstances, Roh dismissed the claim that the UNC should stay in Seoul, calling it an ``outdated notion''. These are not the kind of remarks that a head of state should make at such a crucial point of time.

Have a look at what you wrote above about the humilliation of having foreign military in your capital, Korea lies. See the contradiction? I thought not.

The two sides have yet to iron out differences regarding the move, including the expenses for relocating the American forces.

"New Diplomacy" is very clear on this: Korea will pay or America will leave Korea once and for all. The choice is Korea's. America will not play the game anymore.

We cannot stress enough that the Roh administration needs to promote policies related to the national security concerning the relocation plan in a way that helps minimize the people's feeling of uneasiness and social strife over the issue.

This is 100% related to "New Diplomacy." Korea has chosen to be a "more equal partner." This does not just mean slogans and flag waving, it means taking over the brunt of the defence of the ROK from America. It is up to Comrade Roh to instill that confidence in the Korean people and to inform them of the consequences of "New Diplomacy."

Every action has a consequence, something the Korean people, typified by the Korea Lies, fail to understand. If you want to be anti-American then fine go ahead but do not for a minute think that America will hang around so you can shit all over it's people.

Hooray! USFK Leaves Yongsan!
01.17.04 (5:46 pm)   [edit]
"New Diplomacy" is again paying off. Comrade Roh and the Keystone Commies may have pleaded and begged Uncle Sam to keep at least some troops in Seoul but America has responded to "New Diplomacy" in it's new style for dealing with Koreans. Let me paraphrase:

"We don't give a flyin' you know what about what you want. We are going and you are paying. Don't like it? We'll leave all together."

I disagree with other commenters on the subject. Even with all the soothing words coming from Washington I see the message as being this:

"We are sick of being treated like shit by Korea, being used as political pawns and as hostages. From now on, it is our way or the highway."

It seems like the Americans have finally learned how to play the game with Korea, who do not in the least understand the concept of negotiation. For Koreans there is only a zero sum game, if you do not get whatever you want, you lose. America seems to have realised that since they hold all the cards (ie, it is American soldiers and money we are dealing with) they can play them whenever they like. Had America used this method in 2002, the race riots would have never happened and Korea's economy would be in better shape than the shambles it is now.

"New Diplomacy" will further sideline South Korea. It can love the Dear Leader as much as it wants but there is no way Uncle Sam is ever going to pony up one dime for him. America starved the commies thugs out of Moscow and it is doing the same in Pyongyang.

Don't like the Comrade Roh? Assert your Han with "New Diplomacy" and see how long Uncle Sam protects your sorry, bootlicking, ass!

Thank you Loyal Readers!

Korea's New Diplomacy
01.16.04 (4:25 pm)   [edit]
[image]kimchipig_13436143 64.jpg[/image]

While we are on the subject of Korea's new diplomacy, let's have a little recap on how successful it has been.

Fall 2002. Mob left over from soccer even decides it is fun to be a mob and assert it's racial superiority. Mob has lots of guidance and support for Dear Leader. Government reaction: None, racist mob useful for election.

Dec 19, 2002. Comrade Roh elected. Promises "I will not kow-tow to Washington, I will not go to Washington to just take pictures, I will show Washington who is boss, I will make the US-Korea relationship equal!" Mob goes wild. America does, too but does it behind closed doors.

January 2003 Mob no longer useful so government tries to send it home. Comrade Roh visits USFK and writes "We are friends" in guestbook. Thirty-seven thousand Americans proceed to toss their cookies and write e-mail to every congressman, senator, mom, dad, dog or cat that will read it.

Jan 2003. The problem with using a mob to get elected is that they won't go home when you tell them. Huge anti-white person demonstrations continue. US ambassador announces "We'll withdraw our troops any time Korea wants it."

Mid-Jaunuary 2003. DAMAGE CONTROL! Comrade Roh and practically everyone else in Korea claims racist mob's demands were "all a misunderstanding." America pissed, big mad. New diplomacy goes into damage control.

Feb 2003. "60 Minutes" does an entire show on what is going on in Korea and how the Americans who defend the place are treated, well, like shit. American public enraged. Korea on HUGE damage control. Yoon and the Keystone Commies go to Washington and look like idiots trying to be the big boys in Washington. Yea, right!

March 2003. Several Big Wigs visit Korea, including Daddi Bush, the real power in America. Wolfowitz and Rumsfelt also visit. Koreans working on "New Diplomacy."

April 2003. USFK announces withdrawal of all US soldiers form north of the Han river to south of there of. New Diplomacy on massive damage control. How dare they? PM Goh Kun sent to bases to say how much Korea loves America, which is not in the least impressed. Recent mob activity conveniently forgotten. US reaction? We's packin' our bags.

May 2003. US announces it is leaving Panmunjom and handing over all responsibilty to Korea, in regards to its desire for a "more equal relationship." Also will hand over all fireplans to Koreans, meaning US guns are not included anymore. Koreans go wild, Americans respond "This is the equality you wanted." All demands for new SOFA, etc, on indefinate hold.

Summer 2003. Tons of negotiations going on, in guess where, Hawaii. America MEGA PISSED at Korea and simply states what is going to happen. Koreans are incensed but cannot say anything because Uncle Sam is more than willing to plug. This is not how this "New Diplomacy" thing was supposed to work. America was supposed to respect Korea superior history and culture and unconditionally obey it's senior's demands.

Fall 2003. Korea given one out: significant troop allotment to Iraq. As usual, Comrade Roh cannot make a decision. Plays troop issue with an America promise to keep some troops in Seoul to act as a "tripwire." US agrees to consider it.

Winter 2003. Korea wants troops in Seoul but refuses to grant valuable land for it. Troop issue totally FUBAR.

Jan 2004. Here is where everything goes to shit. Foreign ministy sees how all the good realtions with America built up over many years are being shot to shit by Comrade Roh and the Keystone Commies (NSA) and correctly see how Korea is being increasingly ignored by America.

Jan 15, 2004. Comrade Roh reacts to this by firing Foreign Minister for not following "Independent policy." Outgoing foreign minister, in parting shot, states that new policy only causes Korea to become more isolated, is causing economic harm and has led to unilateral US action regarding Korea.

Jan 16 2004. US announces that there will be no troops in Seoul whatsoever, case closed.

I could go on with more detail but the blunderings of Comrade Roh and the Keystone Commies would be comical if it were not hurting the economic and security well-being of the Korea people.

It will be very interesting to see what happens for the rest of 2004. I predict no end to the "Nuclear Stand-off," which is not a stand-off anyway, and a more rapid withdrawal of USFK than anyone imagined. Korea's economy will continue to stagnate while the rest of the world will pick up. Youth unemployment after hiring season will be even higher and Comrade Roh will try to create even more government jobs for them, after promising to create 80,000 (astounding, isn't it?) government jobs this week! Talk about populism and how to ruin your economy.

Comrade Roh, happy lunar new year!

Comrade Roh Obeys the Dear Leader and Sacks Foreign Minister Yoon
01.15.04 (5:11 pm)   [edit]
Yoon Young-kwan always struck me a the most able person around Comrade Roh and the Keystone Commies. I will not spend a lot of time discussing the issue as Owen Rathbone has already done an excellent job on his blog but I will make a few observations of my own.

Comrade Roh made a deal with the devil when he sided with racist mobs to get elected. The Mob was deeply angered when Comrade Roh immediately backtracked and went into a love in with America. Yoon Young-kwan, although not a professional diplomat, obviously read the briefs persented to him astutely. The simple fact is, that in the year 2003 or now, good relations with the USA are essential for any country wishing to expand it's wealth and security.

The reasons for this are simple; the US is by far the largest export market in the world and it is, against it's own will, the world cop. As a Canadian, I understand this. My country's economy is about one eleventh of that of the USA. The US market is the key to our prosperity. Thus we must have good relations with the USA. This does not mean that we cannot periodically disagree with the USA, we do, but the general respect we have for each other allows these differences to pass.

The "386" people around Comrade Roh in the NSA are academics with no experience of spending any time in developed countries. They have visited places and seen that Koreans have many of the material objects say a German has. This has led them to believe that Korea is a rich, developed country that can go it alone in the world but the fact is, Korea's GDP is something like 1/25th of that of the USA. Examples of the independence of Germany and France in foreign policy are used but both these countries have the wealth to sustain said policies.

To anyone who has lived in Korea, the old "Hermit Kingdom" mentality is never far away. This is why the Dear Leader is so admired by so many in the South. For them, in their comfortable apartments with their fat bellies, "independence," ie Juche, is preferable to international relations because Korea is a 5000 year old culture and cannot learn anything from anyone else. They have convinced themselves that they can make all the decisions they want regarding anything and not lose one smidgen of standard of living and that the way to assure Korea's place in the world is to unifiy with the Dear Leader and thus dictate to the USA what Korea wants in the world. Sound far fetched? Think again. It is mainstream with the under 40 set in Korea.

Yoon Young-kwan made a parting and chilling comment, courtesy of the Korea Lies:

``Korea does not exist in an international vacuum, it exists in relations with other countries, and our national interest must be found in this reality,'' he said.

This is a stab at the NSC which represents the Hermit Kingdom line in Korea. Yoon is completely correct. Korea must learn to play with the other boys and girls in a mature manner for it to get the independence and recognition it so craves instead of sticking it's foot repeatedly into it's mouth and then running off to the Hermit Kingdom to sulk.

``Some in the government, as well as the people and the opinion leaders, do not seem recognize this.''

Truly and excellent comment. Yoon realises that screaming the loudest may work in Korea but in the melieu of international diplomacy, it makes you look like a retard.

Yoon reiterated it is wrong to draw a line between those who are pro-U.S. and those who are not.

Also an excellent comment. Korea needs to chart a course that is in Korea's best interest. If that course is in line with the USA, there is nothing wrong with that.

``For our diplomacy to become truly independent, we must all become globalists and have a clear understanding of where our national interests lay.''

This is another stab at Comrade Roh and the Keystone Commies. They seem to fail to realise that Korea relies on trade for its wealth and a large portion of that goes to the USA.

I also truly believe that there is a fifth column aspect here. It is well know that the North has all the universities and faculties in South Korea completely infiltrated. Guess where the NSC comes from? Academia! At the moment, one cannot make a single disparaging remark regarding the Dear Leader or else your career is over. Yoon favoured strong ties with the USA. The Dear Leader wants to separate the South from it's us ally.

I have no doubt where the order for sacking Yoon came from.

The Editor of the Korea Lies is an Idiot
01.14.04 (1:49 am)   [edit]
http://times.hankooki.com/lpa... Korea Lies

The editor of the Korea Lies is at it again. I will let you all read the article yourself but will make a few points here.

If Korea were really serious about rooting out corruption, a currency reform would be the way to do it. All of a sudden all that crap-loads of illegal cash sitting around would become worthless if it were not exchanged. A simple form would be used to state how much currency you were exchanging. All the black money in Korea would be exposed overnight.

However, Korea is not remotely serious about rooting corruption. All the witch hunts of late are about channeling the money away from Han-nara-dang and towards Minju-dang and Uri-dang.

In additon, Park Moo-jong is a moronic, racist piece of crap.

The Hani Striles Again
01.13.04 (7:57 pm)   [edit]
Our esteemed friends at the Hani http://www.hani.co.kr/section... are at it again I see. I am sure that most reading here are well versed in the topic so I won't go into it in great detail but to say this:

Any goodwill that Korea may have had in USFK and the US in general was lost in the race riots of 2002-2003. In my opinion the USA has had just about enough of Korean silliness and would use pretty any excuse to high tail it out of Korea. The events if the spring of 2003 should be a good indicator of what can happen-the US can and will leave Korea.

In my opinion the relocation of USFK is only a first step in the total departure of USFK and the end of the alliance. However, nobody in Korea really wants that, especially the left. They know that the stability that the USA provides in Korea actually keeps the Dear Leader in power so they can pursue their fantasy of developing the North before Korea reunifies to become the world's greatest power.

It is time for Korea to end it's relationship with the USA to end and to get on with things by it's own desires; only then can it have the "pride" that it speaks of so much.

Update Tokto-Takashima-Laincourt Rocks or Whatever...
01.12.04 (9:25 pm)   [edit]
Spend a goodly amount of time crusing the Japanese media and e-mailing Japanese friends over the rock in the Sea of Japan issue today. The general consensus in Japan is, a drum-roll please.......

Nothing. Nada. Zip.

The whole absurd issue, along with the childish cyber wars and flag burnings, has received zero attention in Japan. I wish America would learn from this.

What has happened is many Japanese servers have simply stopped access from .kr IPs, which really does nobody any good.

On Being White Trailer Trash in Korea
01.12.04 (7:09 pm)   [edit]
I have been in Korea for almost nine years now and I have seen my status here change a lot, or perhaps my perception has changed. I think both are at play here.

I am not a poorly educated man, nor am I unworldly. When I first arrived in Korea in 1995, my students seemed keen to learn something from me, be it either English, the various business and history classes I have taught or just about my culture. However it seem that Korean attitudes have changed towards white people in general.

Part of it, I believe, is due to the general decline in working conditions in Korea. I have spent my entire time here in universities and every year something was taken away. This trend accelerated after 1997 and the exchage rates tanked. Attracting good talent suddenly became much more difficult, particularly when conditions worsened. Hell, the "university" I presently work at will take any white face with a Bachelor's and a year of teaching in Korea. This has definately lowered the quality of teaching and teachers when compared to say, 1996.

The Korean management also sees one white face as the same as the next. They want that white face young and female if the can get it. They could not care less about what goes on in the classroom. What they want is a submissive waygook that presents butt for greasing and penetration. What is even worse is how the waygooks will take being abused and ripped off for the sake of W2,000,000 and a dorm room, often less.

This is the reason that Koreans have no respect for us. They rip us off and the waygooks line up for it. The "university" I work at has the mother of all scams going; first, the Korean boss rips off the airfare promised and puts it in his pocket. The he forces the waygooks to teach hagwan classes. He does not declare the money to the government. The final kicker is he changes them "tax" on the money at TWENTY PERCENT! That on a measley W20,000 an hour, so in effect they are getting W16,000 an hour. The absolutely hilarious thing was all the teachers got a Christmas "bonus" in December, only to have double or more than that swiped in January!

And you know what? All the waygooks know about it. However, they are so submissive and love their dorm rooms so much they allow themselves to be ripped off. If they stand up for themselves they will lose their jobs. The Koreans laugh their asses off and have no respect for the waygooks who so timidly let themselves be robbed. Further, the system works against us because waygooks cannot collectively bargain, change work places or form any kind of organisation; basic human rights are denied.

Many waygooks are truly delusional. They think that they are real university professors. They are not. They are clowns for the students to mock, to feel superior to. The concept that all English teachers are White Trailer Trash is as deeply ingrained in Korea as all USFK members being raping monsters. You can learn the language, wear a hanbok and drink green tea all day and you will NEVER change that impression.

It actually gets harder the longer one has been here. You learn about the scams and corruption that go on here. Hey, who am I to refuse a little black money? I expect my part of the pie if I am in the system, like my last university did, but when I am the only one not on the receiving end, I get mega pissed.

One blogger stated a while ago about how he was going to retire in Korea; mark my words, once you hit 40 and have figured out the game doors will start closing. Korean bosses do not want saavy waygooks. They want submissives who will not complain when a contract is broken or benefit swiped.

Take my advice. Get out before you are 40. Have fun, travel on vacation, date hot Korean chicks but never for one second think any Korean has any respect for you and sees you as anything more than White Trailer Trash.

Hmm, The Marmot is Interviewed by Korea Lies
01.12.04 (2:27 am)   [edit]
I have a lot of respect for the Marmot, but to be very honest, it went down a bit today when I saw he had agreed to be interviewed by that racist piece of shit known as the Korea Lies. At least he was not interviewed by Korea Klux Klan Grand Master Benjamine Oh.

Marmot, please do something to restore our faith.

When You Start to Believe your Own Lies
01.12.04 (1:30 am)   [edit]
Today's editorial in the Korea Lies (or Times, if you wish) was very interesting. It showed the results of a poll which claims that Koreans see America as a bigger threat than North Korea. I find this interesting and telling in that North Korea's constant and consistant campaign to separate South Korea from it's American ally is really bearing fruit. It also shows how Koreans cannot think with any sort of logic. It is North Korea that has a million soldiers at the DMZ and not America. How can, then, America be a bigger threat to Korea especially an America that has repeatedly stated it has no intention of attacking North Korea.

Anyone who has studied the Nork's tactics can see that success is coming soon. The policy of the North changed after the "Tree Chopping Incident" in 1976. It became clear to the Great Leader that he was never going to be able to defeat the Facist Lackies in the South with military action and threats; what was needed was to separate the South from their American ally. Rather than open subversion, misinformation about Americans would be used.

Prior to 1995 or so, the so called "NGOs" had no legal status because they were, correctly, seen a commie fronts. One loophole was environment groups; thus was born Green Korea, which of course only deals with problems regarding USFK. The other was "The Campaign for the Eradication of US Crimes," which harps on crimes of US Soldiers, who in fact have a much lower crime rate than the Korean populace.

The 2000 $500,000,000 Love-in changed everything. All of a sudden the Pyongyang run "NGOs" became legal and they went into overdrive. America was now blocking the way to reunification because America feared a "resurgence" of Korean power (as if they ever had any) and thus was working to keep Korea separated. Of course, nothing in the real relationship between North and South has really changed expect the above lie has been told so many times they believe it. How many of the great projects in the North have come to fruition? Not a single one. How much was spent? Billions.

The closing of the editorial was priceless:

As the schism between Seoul and Washington only helps Pyongyang, the two long-time allies should make a joint effort to address and ameliorate the worsening public perception of the U.S.

The irony of this is the Korean media has done more to expound the North's propaganda than any other organisation. The Korea Lies is shockingly racist, especially racist shitbag Benjamine Oh, who isn't even Korean, the sad sack of shit he is.

Of course there is only one solution: The Americans get out and let Korea do whatever the fuck it wants. If I were American, I would spend my entire day sending information to Congressmen, Senators, the President or anybody else who knows how to read in America how the US is treated like absolute shit in this country.

Pull out of Korea and let the ungrateful shitbags that Koreans are see what happens when the Dear Leader drives to Seoul and takes over, without a shot being fired.

It would serve as a warning to other big-feeling pissant countries.

January is Hate Somebody Month!
01.11.04 (9:09 pm)   [edit]
It has always seemed to me that a large part of the Korean identity is who they hate. January is usually hate month. I suppose it is because all the university kids are out of class and that elections come in April. I wonder what hating somebody is so important to Koreans? I am Canadian and I don't particularly hate anbody or nationality. I do rather dislike arrogant people and do my best to avoid them.

The politics of hate in Korea are very interesting. When I first came to Korea in 1995 the Japanese were by far the most hated. I often heard comments from students such as "My dream is for Korea to build an atomic bomb and use it on Japan." However, things really changed after the 2000 Love-in with the Dear Leader. All of a sudden America became the hated party and this grew exponentially.

I have spent many years on Korean university campuses and I really saw the anti-American thing grow after 2000. There is no doubt in my mind that student opinion is highly guided by Pyongyang. It can also be said that anti-Americanism is really anti-white person because they are one and the same in the Korean mind. Koreans convinced themselves that no matter how far they went with their racist mob mentality, America was in Korea for America's interest only and no Korean action would affect the status quo, which is really what everybody in both North and South Korea actually want.

Well, after the excesses of 2002, America indeed showed Korea that it was tired of the crap going on and announced the pull-back from the DMZ. This put a profound shudder in most Koreans. Then they found out about the new US visa rules. Suddenly, hating America was not in the cards, at least for now.

Well, January is hate a country month and what better target than Japan. China was tried but Koreans worship China even if it is a ruthless dictatorship. What more convenient target than Japan. I mean, really, it is perfect. The Koreans can rant, rave, burn flags, hate and the Japanese will never even remotely give a shit. There will be no consequences because the Japanese will completely ignore all the hijinks that go on in Korea. If fact, it will only reinforce the long-held view in Japan that the Koreans are their retarded third cousins.

You see, Koreans thrive on attention. America played the attention game for too long in 2000-2002 period. Once a Korean makes a demand and gets it, he will never stop until the end-game. It was only when America told Korea "We'll take our troops home any time you want" that Korea stopped its lunacy in early 2003. By April 2003 Korea was falling all over itself loving America and saying things like "It was all a misunderstanding."

Japan has a much better solution in dealing with Korea. I used to work for a big Japanese company that sold computer chip manufacturing equipment. Every machine in Korea was made by them. Any time a Korean got unreasonable, the Japanese would would just blow them off. It absolutely sent the Koreans into fits when the Japanese did this. It must have been sincerely gauling when the former coloniser (and I am not convinced that dragging Korea out of the 13th century was a bad thing) held the keys to Korean success, and still does for that matter.

This leads us to that absurd rock in the Sea of Japan (and if it is "East Sea" then the Pacific is "The West Canada Ocean"). What a convenient thing to bring up for hate month. It is a forlorn and worthless place. Koreans can have their hate, go home and feel good about themselves.

And nobody in Japan will care. PERFECT!

Welcome to my Blog
01.11.04 (5:39 pm)   [edit]
Welcome to my blog and I hope many read it. I have been living in Korea on an off for nine years so I think I have a good handle on Korean affairs.

I will make my opinion here very clear; it is my opinion that Korea is a nation that is rapidly putting itself down the toliet. The combination of of xenophobic ultra-nationalism mixed with their deeply-held belief in racial superiority is not a healthy mix. I hope this blog will expose this to the average reader.

The sad part is that Koreans are now completely incapable of listening to anyone non-Korean speak on any issue regarding Korea. Any comment on Korean society by a non-Korean is met with instant hostility. This severely limits the scope of free information exchange that can go on between Koreans and expats.

In this blog I hope to expose the racism, biased media and outright hostility that foreigners in Korea face on a daily basis.

Good reading!
